5 Must Have Crochet Tools That I Absolutely Love

Choosing the right crochet tools can be hard. (Trust me, I’ve been there.) Whether you’re just starting to crochet or a seasoned crocheter, who loves all the newest and coolest gadgets, there are products that will help make the craft more simple.

I’ve put together a list of favorite must-have crochet tools, so you don’t have to feel overwhelmed at the craft store ever again.

1. Wooden Yarn Bowl

  • If you’re an avid crocheter like me, you know the struggles of your yarn balls getting tangled all over the floor. Well, your struggles are about to end.
  • My husband got me this gorgeous beautiful yarn bowl on my birthday to hold all my yarn. It’s literally been a lifesaver and I highly recommend getting yourself one, even if you’re just starting out.

2. Embroidery Scissors

  • We’ve all been there: searching the entire house for a pair of scissors to cut your yarn. It’s extremely frustrating and a waste of time. That’s why I suggest getting yourself a pair of embroidery scissors like these. They’re small enough to fit in your project bag and cut yarn like a charm! The beautiful iridescent color is just an added bonus.

3. Thread Magic

  • This isn’t “technically” one of my crochet tools, but it IS yarn related. I know many of us crocheters have a knitting machine, so… if you have a knitting machine, Thread Magic is essential. I put it right on the face of the counter on my machine to help my yarn run through smoothly. This helps you avoid that annoying static electricity and also keeps the yarn from splitting. It’s truly one of my most used products.

4. Knit Blockers

  • Have you ever washed something that you’ve crocheted and it loses its shape? Don’t worry, it happens to me ALL the time. That’s why I invested in knit blockers.
  • All you need to do is lay the crocheted item down on a foam board or a couple of towels, and then pin it into place with the knit blockers. The ones I bought even come in a handy case for easy storage. Just remember to be careful because they’re really sharp!

5. Zippered Crochet Hook Case

  • Whether you’re obsessed with organization or just simply dislike searching all over for your crochet hooks, the number one item I would recommend you get is a hook case.
  • I recently purchased this super cute pink cat zippered crochet hook case and I’m in love! Not only does it have cats on the design (I’m a huge cat lover!), but it also has mesh zipper pouches to hold other crochet tools, such as measuring tape, scissors or stitch markers. This is a great hook case if you’re looking for something with a little more storage.
  • If you’re not much of a cat person, don’t worry! This hook case comes in other styles including owls or red with white polka dots.

Conclusion

And there you have it! While you can crochet with just some yarn and a hook, the more you get into the hobby, the more you’re going to want to fill your “tool kit” with crochet tools like these.
